Guided Climb: Langkofel / Sassolungo Normal Route (3181 m)

The main peak of the Val Gardena Dolomites

The Langkofel (3181 m) – also known as Sassolungo in Italian and Saslonch in Ladin – is the dominant peak of the Val Gardena Dolomites and a must-do for every Dolomite enthusiast. The ascent via the normal route is a true alpine classic: technically not overly difficult, but due to its length, route finding, and exposed passages, it should not be underestimated.

This climb requires solid fitness and endurance. Not without reason do mountaineers speak of Langkofel weather – stable conditions are essential for a successful ascent of this iconic peak.

Despite its fame, the Sassolungo normal route is rarely crowded. The summit rewards climbers with breathtaking views of the surrounding Dolomite groups such as the Sella, Marmolada, and Rosengarten. With a certified mountain guide at your side, this classic Dolomite climb becomes a safe and unforgettable adventure.
