The Langkofel (3181 m) – also known as Sassolungo in Italian and Saslonch in Ladin – is the dominant peak of the Val Gardena Dolomites and a must-do for every Dolomite enthusiast. The ascent via the normal route is a true alpine classic: technically not overly difficult, but due to its length, route finding, and exposed passages, it should not be underestimated.
