Maximilian via ferrata

Classic Ridge Traverse in the Schlern Group

Scenic Dolomites Route from Großer Rosszahn to Roterdspitze with Views of the Seiser Alm and Rosengarten

The Maximilian Via Ferrata near the Tierser Alpl Hut is a  mini ferrata in the Dolomites connecting the Große Rosszahn and Roterdspitze peaks. This spectacular traverse of the two highest summits of the Schlern group offers stunning views over the Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm and the iconic Rosengarten massif.

Built in 1969 by the hut warden of Tierser Alpl, the route is considered a classic via ferrata tour in the region. With varied sections that include an exposed ridge, the tour provides exciting challenges.

The route features scenic beauty and alpine variety: hiking trails, secured paths, a short easy via ferrata (A/B), and airy, simple rock terrain requiring sure-footedness. The overall long approach demands good fitness, making it a true mountain adventure.

With our experienced mountain guides from South Tyrol, you can safely and professionally explore the Maximilian Via Ferrata and enjoy spectacular views of this unique UNESCO World Heritage site.
