Scenic Circular Hike in the Dolomites
Discover one of the most stunning hikes in South Tyrol around the iconic Peitlerkofel
The Peitlerkofel Circuit is one of the most scenic circular hikes in the Dolomites. Together with an experienced mountain guide, hikers explore the Puez-Geisler Nature Park, passing flowering alpine meadows, diverse mountain paths, and traditional huts, while enjoying breathtaking Dolomite panoramas.
The tour starts at the Würzjoch. From there, the route follows trail 8A counterclockwise up to the Peitlerscharte. This steeper section requires surefootedness and fitness, but is rewarded with impressive views of the surrounding peaks. The path then continues across the Peitler meadows to the Gömajoch, offering spectacular perspectives on the Aferer Geisler. On the way back to Würzjoch, hikers enjoy a more relaxed descent over meadow and forest trails while taking in the magnificent Dolomite landscape once again.
Along the route, charming mountain huts such as Munt de Fornella, Ütia Vaciara, and Ütia de Göma provide ideal spots for breaks, where visitors can enjoy local specialties and authentic alpine hut atmosphere. Guided by an experienced mountain guide, the Peitlerkofel Circuit becomes not only a breathtaking scenic experience but also a safe and unforgettable adventure in the Dolomites.
