Peitlerkofel

Guided Hike: Peitlerkofel Normal Route (2,875m)

Majestic Dolomite Peak with Panoramic Views over the Alps

The Peitlerkofel is the mighty, solitary cornerstone at the northwestern edge of the Dolomites and one of South Tyrol’s most striking peaks. Surrounded by idyllic alpine scenery, it rises impressively above the Peitler Pass and offers a varied mountain tour that perfectly combines hiking with sections of easy climbing.

The approach leads from the Peitler Pass along well-marked trails to the saddle between the Little Peitlerkofel and the main summit. From here, a secured via ferrata, equipped with new steel cables and anchors, leads to the top in about an hour. The route is not particularly steep but does require sure-footedness and a head for heights.

At the summit cross, climbers are rewarded with a breathtaking panorama: to the north, the Großvenediger and Großglockner rise into the sky, while to the west the Ötztal Alps, the Ortler and the Brenta Group dominate the horizon. To the south and east, the rest of the Dolomites unfold in all their beauty.

The Peitlerkofel Normal Route is a rewarding tour for mountaineers seeking a classic Dolomite experience. With a certified mountain guide, the ascent becomes a safe and unforgettable adventure – a must for anyone wishing to discover the Dolomites at their very best.
