Pößneck via ferrata

Historic Dolomites Via Ferrata to Piz Selva

Challenging Via Ferrata with Stunning Views of the Langkofel Group, Marmolada and the Sella Range

The Pößnecker via ferrata, one of the oldest in the Dolomites, has led adventurers from the Sella Pass to the summit of Piz Selva (2,941 m) since 1912. This legendary route is considered one of the most technically and scenically impressive tours in the region.

The climbing demands are challenging (C/D, with grade II climbing sections), especially during the first 250 vertical meters, which lead over steep walls, chimneys, and gullies – once completely unsecured, but today fully equipped with modern steel cables.

From the summit of Piz Selva, you can enjoy a panorama that rewards every effort – breathtaking views of the Sassolungo Group, Marmolada, Val Gardena, and the entire Sella massif before a long and scenic descent over the Sella Plateau and through Val Lasties leads back down to the valley.

With our experienced mountain guides from South Tyrol, you can tackle this demanding route safely and fully enjoy the alpine diversity of the Dolomites.
