This alpine dream route features dramatic ridges, iconic peaks such as the Kesselkogel (3,002 m – the highest summit in the Rosengarten) and the majestic Schlern, along with three remarkable via ferratas: the famous Santner Pass Via Ferrata, the Kesselkogel Via Ferrata, and the panoramic Maximilian Via Ferrata.
Throughout the tour, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views across the Dolomite skyline – from the Latemar to the Marmolada – and immerse yourself in the full diversity of this UNESCO World Heritage landscape: airy ridge traverses, charming mountain hut overnights, and unforgettable sunrises and sunsets in a high-alpine setting.

Day 1 Thursday | Arrival & Santner Pass Via Ferrata Meeting point: Waidbruck Transfer to Karer Pass Ascent: by cable car or on foot (1.5 h | +400 m) Climb the Santner Pass Via Ferrata (2–3 h | +400 m) to the Santner Pass Hut (2,734 m) Overnight: Santner Pass Hut |
Day 2 Friday | Vajolet Towers & Kesselkogel From the Santner Pass Hut, hike past the striking Vajolet Towers to Grasleiten Pass (2,600 m) (2 h | +500 m) Climb the Kesselkogel Via Ferrata to the summit (3,002 m) – highest peak in the Rosengarten (1.5 h | +350 m from the pass + approx. 100 m counter-ascent) Descent to Grasleiten Hut (2,165 m) (1.5 h | –400 m) Overnight: Grasleiten Hut |
Day 3 Saturday | Maximilian Via Ferrata & Schlern Traverse Ascent to Tierser Alpl Hut (2,440 m) (2 h | +500 m) Traverse the Maximilian Via Ferrata with spectacular views (2–3 h | +300 m) Cross the Schlern (2,563 m) and descend to Schlernbödele Hut (1,693 m) (2 h | –1,030 m) Overnight: Schlernbödele Hut |
