Zwölfer Normal Route

Guided Climb: Zwölfer Normal Route (3,094m)

Beautiful Challenging Mountain Tour on a Dolomite Three-Thousander

The Zwölferkofel is considered one of the most beautiful peaks in the Sexten Dolomites, standing at 3,094 meters among the impressive Dolomite three-thousaners. As part of the Sexten sundial, the summit captivates with a unique panorama and stunning alpine scenery.

The normal route on the Zwölfer is one of the most beautiful, yet also one of the more challenging normal routes a Dolomite three-thousander can offer. Today’s standard variant, the Drasch Route (IV), follows solid grips and ledges, providing a challenging but well-manageable climbing experience.

Climbers attempting the Zwölferkofel should be prepared for a long approach. To make the tour more relaxed, it can be split over two days with an overnight stay at the Büllelejoch Hut or Zsigmondy Hut. This allows climbers to fully enjoy the magnificent Sexten Dolomites and tackle summit day with plenty of energy.

The ascent combines technical climbing sections with alpine panoramas and culminates at a summit offering a 360° view over the Dolomites, the Puster Valley, and surrounding peaks. The route is perfect for climbers who love classic Dolomite ascents and seek an unforgettable alpine experience.

With a certified mountain guide, climbing the Zwölferkofel becomes a safe, rewarding, and unforgettable adventure – ideal for anyone wishing to experience the Dolomites in all their beauty.
